BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, ISIS ENTERPRISE
The position of Business Development Manager is responsible for securing profitable business for the Isis Enterprise division of Isis Innovation through sales of services and products.
Listed below are the key responsibilities of the role and a brief description of some of the key tasks to be undertaken. The list is not totally inclusive and the person will be expected to complete tasks reasonably requested by the line manager. All work is to be carried out in accordance with Isis Operating Procedures. It is the post holder's responsibility to ensure that they are familiar with applicable Operating Procedures and the Staff Manual.
In time it is expected that the Business Development Manager will take on line management responsibility for staff responsible for the delivery of services and products.

Key responsibilities of the role include
- Development of New Business
- Identify sales leads for Isis Enterprise products and services according to goals and targets
- Make sales calls, visits and prepare/deliver targeted sales presentations to achieve requests for project proposals
- Understand customers needs and wants in order to deliver proposals which address clients requirements
- Prepare and negotiate client proposals resulting in contract work
- Win profitable business
- Supporting the Delivery of Services and Products
- Handover business to the delivery team to ensure smooth transfer between the development of new business and the delivery of projects
- Maintain relations with the customer where appropriate to anticipate customer needs and secure repeat business
- Liaise effectively with other Groups in Isis where other resources are needed in order to deliver contract work
- Occasionally deliver services and products to gain experience and to ensure timely delivery when other resources are unavailable
- Supporting the Design of Services and Products
- Support the development of new services and products in cooperation with the Head of Group
- Develop new ideas for services and products leading to profitable sales
- Maintain an awareness of the competition and identify new business opportunities or new competitive threats
- Managing Self
- Ensure all project information is recorded on file or on the database as appropriate.
- Ensure that the PC, desk, diary are all managed professionally.
- Project an appropriate professional image
- Creating a Strong team within the Group
- Play an active part in creating a high performing team within the Group, e.g. positive participation in team meetings and company events.
- Play an active part in building strong professional relationships, and an environment, which is positive, goal and action orientated.
- Support the line manager in his/her efforts to build a successful Group, including proposing improvements, raising concerns and issues with the line manager in a constructive way.
- Participating in Isis Company Management
- Contribute to the continual improvement of Isis Management Systems by identifying problem areas and proposing solutions.
- Meet regularly with line manager to review performance, discuss successes, concerns challenges and what has been learnt from mistakes.
- Contribute to a professional and constructive atmosphere in the company in keeping with the Isis Guiding Principles.
- Comply with Isis standard operating procedures.
