Technology Transfer from the University of Oxford

Oxford Innovation Society

Established by Isis in 1990, the Oxford Innovation Society allows companies to have a "window" on Oxford science and fosters links between business and the academic community. In the past 12 years, over 90 companies have taken advantage of this opportunity, helping to shape one of the most successful technology transfer networks.

Membership Benefits

Technology Opportunities

Isis Innovation is the preferred route for technology transfer from the University of Oxford and for the establishment of spin-out companies. Members of the OIS are given 30 days' prior notification of all patent applications marketed by Isis.

OIS Meetings & Dinners

Held three times a year, the OIS dinner meetings provide a unique environment for constructive interaction between business leaders and top University scientists. Member companies receive two invitations to each event, at which a leading Oxford academic describes in non-specialist language progress in their area of science. The evening's sponsor gives a talk on a relevant business topic and the meeting concludes with a champagne reception and a four-course dinner at one of Oxford's colleges, where members are joined by researchers, University staff and invited guests from industry.

Customised Research Meetings

Isis will arrange presentations, seminars and, with the agreement of researchers, laboratory visits for OIS members in response to requests for University contacts on a particular subject.

Isis News

Published three times a year, the newsletter contains reports of all OIS meetings and ad hoc seminars as well as information on new patent applications, licences, new memberships, spin-out companies and developments at Isis.
