TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD

NO.6 OCTOBER 2007

The Isis Annual Report 2007 is now available.  The Report describes our successful and growing activities commercialising Oxford University research through patenting, licensing, creating spin-out companies and consulting.  Total income was £3.5m; we concluded a total of 146 new licensing, consulting and spin-out transactions; we returned £1.7m to the University; we held the 50th Meeting of the Oxford Innovation Society; Isis Enterprise continued to grow, providing expertise on technology transfer to university and business clients across the world.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Isis Innovation we organised an extremely enjoyable dinner in St Catherine’s College for all Isis directors, past and present, and Dr John Hood, as our guest.

I am delighted to welcome to Isis the first Isis-SBS Fellows, Heidi Herrick and Matt Holgate.  Heidi and Matt will spend three months at Isis working on projects including raising first-round investment in spin-outs and supporting clean tech, low carbon projects.

Yours

Tom Hockaday
Managing Director
