Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Scan Visual Reporting Tool - Isis Project No 6907
A visual means of reporting CMR scans that involves assessment of myocardial perfusion and viability.
Marketing Opportunity
This technology is suitable for any organisation which manufactures CMR scanner technology, or who provide additional services to the technology. Some software development would be required for commercial use.
The Oxford Invention
A tool for the visual assessment of myocardial perfusion and viability, the CMR operator grades scan images according to the presence and extent of perfusion abnormalities and scarring. Instead of presenting these as tables of numbers as is the current practice, the new tool provides a visual report.
As well as the long axis report shown, the tool also displays short axis and 'bullsye' reports.
The tool makes the data easier to interpret, reduces workload, and reduces risk of errors. It also creates opportunities to share the information with non-specialists, including patients, in a form which is understandable.
