OxLoc Customer delighted with recovery of two stolen vehicles using Asset Alert
OXFORD, Oxfordshire. – January 2007. The OxLoc asset alert, a self contained, long life, battery powered GPS/GSM tracking device has been used by one of OxLoc’s customers to successfully recover two vehicles stolen from his fleet.
The customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, explained, “In my business, we lease vehicles to clients who then drive them to locations around the UK where they should remain for fixed periods of time. We do not have a need for live continuous vehicle tracking and fleet management data, but we do need to have a daily inventory log of location and to quickly find them if they have moved or could have been stolen. We have set the OxLoc unit to report location twice a day in the morning and evening, although we can remotely change this to any rate we wish from 5 minutes to 24 hours. During one of our daily inventory checks, we found that two vehicles had unexpectedly moved from their previous overnight positions. Once we knew this we made a request for the tracking unit to report the current GPS location and then successfully recovered it”.
He added “Recovering these vehicles so soon after we knew they were missing is a great result. The daily inventory reports allow me to utilise and protect my fleet in a very cost effective way. The battery powered units with a life measured in years, gives me hassle free operation and with minimal installation time. I would certainly recommend the OxLoc solution for this type of application.”
Keith Dobson, CEO of OxLoc said “Our customer has been delighted with the performance, reliability and quick and easy installation of the system. We find that customers are increasingly asking for the flexibility of remote configuration and position on request which allows them to chose and change tracking and monitoring rates to suit changing business needs. The position on request feature of the OxLoc solution ensured that our customer avoided an anxious wait to recover his two stolen vehicles.”
