Oxford University Offers Environmental Consultancy

Oxford University Consulting (OUC), the University's professional service dedicated to finding direct, cost effective solutions to a range of consultancy needs, has launched a new sub-group, Oxford Environmental. Celebrated with a formal launch at the Oxford Science Park on Tuesday, 14th May, Oxford Environmental can offer consultancy in such fields as:

  • Information Systems, with experience in modelling, software development, surveying with differential GPS, water sediment analysis, Geographic Information Systems, and remote sensing

  • Sustainability and Policy in the areas of nature, causes and impacts of environmental change and management strategies for coping with future environmental change as well as geomorphology and climatology

  • Remediation and Clean Technologies with broad expertise in the related biological science and technology and the associated process engineering for environmental problems in soil, water and air.

Attended by over 30 environmental scientists, industrialists and local government officials, the launch of Oxford Environmental included a presentation by Professor Chris Knowles, Director of the Oxford Centre for Environmental Biotechnology and the Faraday Partnership for Innovative Remediation Science and Technology (FIRST Faraday). Dr Brenda Boardman, Head of Lower Carbon Futures at the University's Environmental Change Institute, also presented at the launch. Dr Boardman, co-author of "Carbon UK", a report that forms part of the Biffaward Programme on Sustainable Resource Use, discussed sustainability issues in the domestic sector.
