Patient Reported Outcomes from the University of Oxford

New User Manuals Available for the Oxford Hip and Knee Scores

10 January 2012

Isis Outcomes has expanded the user support of two of its very popular Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) measures, the Oxford Hip and Knee Scores, with the commissioning of comprehensive user manuals. Available to licensees of the Oxford Hip and Knee scores, the manuals provide essential information to any user on the proper administration and scoring of the Oxford measures as well as details about development, testing, properties, validation, application and references.

The manuals were created by the researchers who developed the Oxford Orthopaedic PRO measures in association with Isis Outcomes and PharmaQuest Ltd.

David Churchman of Isis Outcomes said “At Isis Outcomes we believe that it’s essential, as part of our PRO management activity, to support users of our PRO measures in outcome assessment programs. The commissioning of these manuals is an important first step in that support. We anticipate that the availability of these manuals further promotes the adoption of the Oxford Orthopaedic scores as the ‘questionnaires of choice’ when decisions are made about deploying outcome programs for hip and knee surgery.”

Isis Outcomes is an activity within Technology Transfer, part of Isis Innovation Limited, the Technology Transfer Company for the University of Oxford. Isis Outcomes is dedicated to the provision and support in use of high quality PRO measures to the Pharmaceutical and healthcare provider sectors.

PharmaQuest is an ISO 9001 certified medical translation company specialising in the translation and linguistic validation of patient reported outcome measures.
