Descriptions of the development and use of the Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire (PDQ) and the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Questionnaire (ALSAQ) available in a new book

A new book has recently been published on the subject of Quality of Life Measurement in Neurodegenerative and Related Conditions. The book, edited by Professor Crispin Jenkinson, Dr Michele Peters (both of University of Oxford) and Professor Mark Bromberg, covers aspects of methodology when using Patient Reported Outcome (PRO) measures. It includes reviews of PROs used in Parkinson’s Disease (PDQ*), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis - ALS, also referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALSAQ*), Multiple sclerosis, supranuclear palsy, multiple system atrophy, Huntingdon’s, dementia and cerebral palsy.

The published work also covers aspects of best practice in the translation of PROs for cross-cultural studies, Rasch analysis, methods for inputting missing questionnaire data and individual quality of life measurement in neurodegenerative disorders.
