Technology Transfer from the University of Oxford

Cytox

Cytox Limited is developing products and services for neurodegenerative disorders. They currently provide biomarker services to pharmaceutical industry clients conducting clinical trials with drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment. The blood tests enable the prediction of which patients with MCI will develop AD, which allows treatment in the earliest stages of AD, before irreversible brain damage occurs. The biomarkers are based on the cell cycle hypothesis of AD and were invented by Dr Zsuzsanna Nagy in the course of her groundbreaking work on the role of the neuronal cell cycle in the pathogeneisis of Alzheimer's disease while working at the University of Oxford.
