Oxford Glycosciences Plc
OGS was founded in 1988 and floated on the London Stock Excange in
1998. OGS became a leader in the emerging field of proteomics, the comprehensive
study of proteins. OGS successfully integrated proteomics with genomics
to create an innovative, proprietary drug discovery platform to allow
the systematic separation, identification and characterisation of proteins
on an industrial scale. Oxford Glycosciences was acquired by Celltech
plc in July 2003 for £102 m.
Celltech is a subsidiary of UCB SA in Belgium.
