Technology Transfer from the University of Oxford

ThirdPhase Ltd - now Cmed Technology Ltd

www.cmedltd.com

In January 2000 ThirdPhase Ltd. was established to research and develop innovative solutions in the area of electronic data capture (eDC) during pharmaceutical clinical trials.

The original pre-commercial system developed by ThirdPhase (called ClinBrowser) provided the proving ground for an eDC system of considerable functional sophistication. It was designed to carefully integrate into the workflow of the clinical trial investigational sites with a focus on achieving simplicity and ease of use of the technology by medical staff in hospitals and doctor's surgeries.

In February 2002, ThirdPhase Ltd. was acquired by the Cmed Group Ltd., www.cmedltd.com. Cmed Technology now provides high tech solutions and technological expertise for the rest of the Cmed Group.

Today the Cmed Technology product combines the benefits of a fully featured data management system and sophisticated eDC technology. This allows for trial data to be collected and managed in the all-electronic modality as well as more traditional data management to be conducted using a purely paper process. Cmed CRS, the CRO division of the Cmed Group, has successfully completed a number of trials using the technology. Customers have benefited from rapid configuration of a trial and the export of a high quality clinical database.

Cmed Technology continues to develop its eDC systems and is working towards the commercialisation of its first truly innovative all-in-one eDM/eDC product.
